In the medium term, a new urban quarter will be created on the site of the former barracks in Krampnitz. The urban development concept includes a central park in the middle of the neighbourhood and a peripheral park in the transition to heath and forest landscape. Adjacent to the former military training area, rare and protected plant and animal communities have developed over decades.

Taking into account the requirements of nature conservation and uses, the following basic spatial structure is proposed for the marginal park: a combined footpath and cycle path divides the park into intensive and extensive areas. Large, green-filled development windows open up recurrently and mediate towards the centre of the neighbourhood.

Along the edge of the park, landscape balconies offer places to stay and allow views of the neighbouring landscape. The park thus consciously responds to the neighbouring landscape typologies.
