The area is located at the transition between city and a patchwork of field corridor, wooden islands and gardens. The special features of this landscape should be protected and accentuated.

Optionally, the planned quarter should be extended in a south-eastern direction. For this purpose, a correspondingly efficient transport connection must be provided. Located near the motorway, the new district border must also take over noise protection functions. Taking these assumptions into account, the concept provides three basic elements: a large-scale framework and a sequence of ‚green corridors‘ and neighborhood units.

framework: The quarter lies as a new ‚outskirts‘ in front of existing buildings. Accordingly, an order structure is suggested, which connects the adjacent urban and landscape spaces more strongly. At the same time, a simple path structure and visual relationships should facilitate orientation. The quarter is developed by two development axes in east-west direction. Their expansion allows a quarter extension to the east, without burdening the existing roads one-sided traffic.

green corridors: ‚green corridors‘ are located between the neighborhoods. As elongated neighborhood parks they open up the settlement structure to the adjacent landscape space. In each case, they tie in with existing green spaces.

neighborhoods: The new quarter is made up of four neighborhoods, each oriented towards a common space. Towards the landscape, a building clasp forms the edge of the quarter. At the same time, it protects the southern adjoining buildings from noise pollution.
