The almost 200-year-old spa park forms the green centre of the spa town of Bad Salzhausen. Designed as a landscape park, it blends naturally into the surrounding landscape. The north-eastern section of the spa park is being carefully upgraded as part of the Upper Hesse Regional Garden Show. The reason for this is the necessary renewal of the Landgrafenteich. The park maintenance plan for the Bad Salzhausen spa gardens will be taken into account as the framework for the renovation.

With the renovation of the Landgrafenteich, the small viewing terrace on the west bank will be renewed. In addition, seating steps will be carefully inserted into the western embankment to enable visitors to spend time by the water. Benches will also be added to the southern shore path. The view in a northerly direction will be strengthened.

Another important goal is the opening of the park access to Roland-Krug-Straße. A walkway invites visitors to stay in the spa gardens. This is where two paths begin that lead from the Kurpark to the higher-level green connections - the Kur-Allee in the north and the green connection in the direction of the Nidda in the south.

The new paths are sensitively integrated into the existing topography. The northern path links the Stahlquelle spring, the southern path leads to the Landgrafenteich pond. Small bridges emphasise the existing ditches. Three play and adventure islands are connected to the southern path, which come into contact with the Salzbach. The themes of water and salt can be experienced here in a playful way.
