The neighbourhoods of Gaimersheim, Friedrichshofen, Westpark and Piusviertel have developed within a few decades in the course of a rapid urbanization process. Their idiosyncrasies include respective homogeneous uses, coarse-meshed development frameworks and a predominantly introverted organization of the individual building plots.

The future Feldpark offers the opportunity to complement missing urban spaces qualities. The design therefore provides for two related ordinal elements. The existing vastness of the green corridor is to be preserved and emphasized by a all round enclosure. Thus, a path framework links the urban areas on the opposite site and enables the location of supplementary uses.

Expansion west: The proposed concept is an urban framework that can be gradually refined and adapted in various stages during implementation. The proposed structure of the fields represents a possible ordinal system, which can be adapted to different building types and neighborhood forms. A division of the area into three different districts, each with a separate development structure of ist own, is planned. A fabric composed of public spaces is proposed for the structure and development, which takes up on the neighbourhood sizes and the structural orientation of the adjoining buildings.

Expansion east: Two elongated green corridors are proposed for the reordering of the areas. They link the Feldpark with the Piusviertel and at the same time integrate the existing buildings and school areas. The Grasserplatz adjoining on the eastern side, forms the transition to the Spielpark Nordwest as a schoolyard and a quarter square.

As a fundamental framework for a future building development, the green corridors border two building straps. The southern strap can be developed as a mixed residential and office quarter, grouped around a central square. The northern strap along the eastern wall takes up on a number of buildings with public uses.
