In future, the Büchel neighbourhood will present itself as an inner-city attraction. To this end, a generous ‚meadow plumeau‘ will be laid out on the open space, its folds picking up on and emphasising the existing topography. The ‚plumeau‘ is given a stone frame. A sequence of terraces enables cross connections and overcomes the existing height difference without barriers.

The ‚meadow-plumeau‘ is bordered by a row of trees facing Antoniusstrasse in the north and Büchel Strasse in the south. The deliberately irregular arrangement of trees accentuates the area at certain points and ensures a varied disposition of light and shade. Tree species from the climate tree list of the city of Aachen are taken into account.

The local thermal water is integrated into the redesign of the area as a special feature of the site. Due to the already existing staging in the Elisenpark and the odour pollution, heatable furniture and a water installation are proposed.
